Shipping Policy

Delivery
Creative Iron Works values our customer’s time, however we cannot guarantee the exact day or time of delivery. We inform the shipper  of the type of delivery ( residential or commercial) and it is the customers responsibility to have the equipment and man-power to unload the items from the freight trucks.  The customer must be available at the time of delivery to check all packages and inspect for damaged or missing packages. Shortages and damages must be reported immediately in writing, on the bill of lading upon  signing for the delivery. Failure to inspect your shipment will result in denial for any returns. All items are shipped from our location in perfect working order. The carrier is responsible for any damages occurring during shipping and delivery.  Anyone signing for the customer assumes the responsibility of these procedures.
 
UPS and FedEx will deliver all small packages. Large freight carriers must ship items too large for these carriers.
 
Unloading
The customer or representative of the customer must be present to unload the large freight truck. Large shipments will be delivered on pallets. Customers will be required to unload these pallets from the freight trucks. It is the customer’s responsibility to have the correct equipment (forklift) at the time of delivery to unload the truck.  Delivery will be only to the customer’s driveway or closest place the driver can get his truck. The driver will not move packages to your garage, back yard or other specified places. In some cases the freight trucks are to large and can not make it to your residential address. In this case shipments will have to be picked up at your local shipping dock. It is highly recommended that that you pick up the merchandise at the shipping dock. It is more convenient for you and it could be substantially cheaper.
 
Delivery Time
All of Creative Iron Works Driveway Gates and Fence Panels are custom built at the time of order. Shipping time will vary depending on your order. Our normal shipping time is 10 to 15 business days.  This time may shorten or lengthen depending on the time of the year. Customers will be notified at time of order if delivery time has been lengthened due to peak time of year. Smaller packages of accessories only normally ship in 3 to 4 business days.
 
Damages
Damages discovered after delivery must be immediately reported to the delivery carrier. The delivery carrier will want to inspect all packages, and all shipping containers before a claim can be made. After inspection a claim must be filed, which includes the following documents:
 

IF ITEMS ARE DAMAGED YOU MUST NOTE IT ON THE SHIPPING DOCUMENTS BEFORE YOU SIGN IT. If you sign for it un-damaged there can be no recourse on the freight company.

 
Creative Iron Works will not accept returns without a return number. Customers can  request an RA number by calling Creative Iron Works at 1-800-959-2429.  Customers are responsible for all return freight charges. Creative Iron Works does not pay the return freight on any return. Some items are not returnable. See our Return Policy for full details.
Creative Iron Works will assist you in anyway possible to collect loss or damage claims from the carrier. We are not responsible for filing claims, cost of replacement materials or the freight charges for shipping of replacement parts or materials.
